There is some fun conversations about about which city Waverly resides in. For those that live in the area it is clear it is part of the Charlotte city proper, but is closely nestled just about a mile from the Weddington, NC city line. We are seeing more & more of these walkable, urban communities popping up in South Charlotte! Waverly is a great example of these all inclusive neighborhoods. This beautiful mix of homes, restaurants, shopping, hotels, office space, wellness, medical, etc. provides you with almost everything from the your front door. The new development of Rea Farms, which is just across the street from Waverly brings even most to this ever growing area. With easy access to I-485 & sitting on Providence Road, accessibility is convenient.
NO. 1 | YAMA Why it is Concierge Approved | We think it's safe to say, this is one of the top sushi restaurants in Charlotte, and it might just be our #1! Everything we have ever had is beyond fresh & delicious. A few of our must try dishes include: Naruto, Gyoza, Crunch Roll, Waverly Roll, Bento Boxes & our absolute favorite, the H&M Roll. While the H&M Roll isn't on the menu at this location, they will be happy to make it for you. It consists of tuna, avocado, topped with tuna, tempura flakes, masago, spring onions & a spicy aioli. So good!!! The restaurant is modern yet casual. The service always incredible. Very friendly & prompt with any request. And lastly, since sushi is kind of our thing, it is hard to leave room for dessert, be sure to save room for the Molten Cake...so divine! We could go on & on!

NO. 2 | THE PORTER HOUSE Why it is Concierge Approved | By far the perfect space in Waverly for a cocktail or to grab dinner. Part of the Dressler family of restaurants, The Porter House offers that unmistakable southern cuisine blended with a farm to table feel. The decor & vibe is cozy modern, It is inviting yet intimate, making it great for a quick week day outing or date night. Sit at the beautiful bar to enjoy a cocktail & order the pimento cheese beignets with bacon aioli or a side of the fingerling potatoes. The steaks highlight that perfect marbling one might expect & all are paired with sides that compliment them beautifully. The desserts have a southern spin on some classics & will leave you content & with a smile!

NO. 3 | THE IMPROPER PIG Why it is Concierge Approved | Freshly relocated from the Cotswold area, this Charlotte staple has pulled pork so good it will make you squeal. You can't go wrong if you start with the improper nachos covered in homemade pimento cheese. The brisket is by far a must! Don't let this BBQ joint fool you, if BBQ isn't for you, they offer a wide variety of gluten free options & salads. The Southern Salmon BLT with a side of jalapeno grits is unbelievably flavorful. Don't forget to save room for the cobbler or the banana pudding!

NO. 4 | VIA ROMA Why it is Concierge Approved | We think it would be hard to come to Via Roma & choose just one dish. Honestly, every time we've come we have had a few friends that love to eat "family style" making for the most amazing meal. The plates come heaping with the most amazing pastas & antipasti. If we had to choose, we would go with the burrata, penne & carbonara. The Italian wine selection is extensive & reasonably priced.

NO. 5 | CO Why it is Concierge Approved | If there is one thing CO is know for, it is a visually unique experience not only when it comes to decor but also to the dishes! The spring rolls & summer rolls make for a wonderful starting point. The Lemon Makimono is refreshing & light yet filling. The Ahi Poke Bowl has the most amazing blend of vegetables, rice & fish. If you don't like raw sushi, this place does not disappoint. They have so many non-sushi options that are equally delicious! One of the most popular soups in Charlotte is the Curry Laska. While this location is always busy, if you can grab a seat on Monday - Friday from 4 to 7 PM take advantage of their great happy hour specials!

NO. 6 | TANDUR Why it is Concierge Approved | Two of the starters at Tandur have us coming back time & time again! The Naanchos & the Spiced Okra Fries - both are perfectly seasoned with a little heat, a little sweet & some savory. The entrees have almost endless options, as you select your sauce & your protein - then they are served with saffron basmati rice and fresh naan. Not sure which sauce will make your heart sing, just ask & they will let you sample them. Every bite is truly sensational!

NO. 7 | FOXCROFT WINE CO Why it is Concierge Approved | Charcuterie boards are everywhere these days & we love them as much as the next person. You won't want to miss this board & the servers will help you select the perfect wine to pair it with. They have a wide selection of wines, so there is something for everyone. The truffle fries are unreal! Other delicious selections are the ham & gruyere croquettes, burgers, tagliatelle & flatbreads. Make your meal complete with donuts for dessert. They come out warm & coated in cinnamon sugar & powdered sugar coupled with caramel & chocolate dipping sauces making for the perfect bite.

From the moment you walk in, the restaurant is stunning, the bar warm & the lighting mood setting. The food isn't necessarily the traditional Italian, it is for a little more elevated palate. NO. 9 | LITTLE BIG BURGER Why it is Concierge Approved | Let us start with the star of the Little Big Burger show in our book - the Truffle Fries! These truffle fries are the real deal & amazing! As for the delicious burgers, the name says it all! The size of the burger is small but the patty is thick & cooked to perfection. If you are feeling extra hungry you might want to order 2. These burgers & fries are sooooo good, we crave them all the time, so we order & carry out often!
