Charlotte’s Finest | Breweries

Updated: Jun 28, 2022

Let's talk beer! With cooler weather in the air & Octoberfest on our minds it seems only fitting to share some of our favorite breweries around the Queen City. The quickly growing craft beer scene lets beer still the star of the show, however the CLT breweries are offering so much more. Some offer amazing outdoor elements, cozy lounge spaces, events throughout the year and of course, something near and dear to our hearts, yummy food.

Why it is Concierge Approved |

This fun, funky brewery will greet you with a unique indoor | outdoor space, a spacious covered patio and beer garden. One thing we love about this brewery is the heart behind it all. Almost everything, including the building itself, has meaning to the owners and has been lovingly preserved & updated. From the handmade tables to the industrial vibe to the warmth of the reclaimed wood, they have thought of everything. Well-known for lighthearted & clever beer names, this brewery is truly known for the amazing beer creations. With a variety of IPAs, pale ales, wild beers (created with yeast from the neighborhood’s flowers and tree bark) and lagers; there is something for everyone.

Why it is Concierge Approved | We are in awe of the versatility this brewery has been able to accomplish in such a short time on the Charlotte scene. The 2 locations both feature comfortable spaces but they really cater to the neighborhood.

The original Plaza Midwood location offers a little more artistic flair with a really good indoor | outdoor space. The food scene is "cas" with a good variety of handheld options. Anything we have had is delicious! The space a little more intimate & have that relaxed brewery vibe.

The SouthPark location at Carnegie is tailored to have a little more upscale vibe which makes it a better fit for this neighborhood. This space is quite expansive with 3 event rooms, outdoor beer garden and 20 beers on tap. Plus the menu is a little more upscale for those looking to dine and drink. We recommend the Wood Grilled Flatiron Steak with Brown Butter Squash Casserole or the Half Barrel Burger.

At the end of the day, both locations offer their award winning beers, which let's be honor is the real show stopper. If all their beers sound good or you aren't sure what you might want, ask about the $3 tasters. Such a great way to sample!

NO. 3 | NODA

Why it is Concierge Approved | We're sure you have seen the NoDa beer cans around Charlotte, as they seem to be served all over the city, but the tap room is even better! With 30+ brews on tap, there is something for everyone. No, really! They have a wide variety of styles including seasonal. Absolutely fantastic space with lots of seating inside & outside -- great for families too! If you are looking to eat, there is typically a food truck on site. Live music is also pretty frequent which adds an element of entertainment at this already lively spot!

Why it is Concierge Approved | If you are looking for a German-inspired beer drinking experience in the Queen City, the taproom & outdoor biergarten at OMB is wunderbare. While this brewery isn't known for a wide variety of beers, the options are solid. The taproom is modern with a rustic undertone & a series of doors open to the biergarten. Outside offers plenty of seating, fun lawn games, and live music. This is our favorite space & is an ideal place to relax all year round. When the weather is warm, enjoy a cold beer under an umbrella or playing a round of cornhole. If the temperatures drop, huddled around a blazing firepit with a seasonal brew. A variety of popular German fare is served & really adds to the ambiance. 4150 Yancey Road | 704.525.5644

Why it is Concierge Approved | This is such an interesting concept! So Victory Brewing and Southern Tier Brewing have come together to create this 28,000 square feet brewery called Brewers at 4001 Yancey. This building is massive & offers some really neat features, but first let's talk beer. Both Southern Tier & Victory are known for their IPA's. They have a fun variety of other brews, as well, and this location is serving 40 offerings on 120 taps. Need a bite to eat? You don't want to pass up the opportunity! This location offers a restaurant-style kitchen operation with some delicious eats. Okay, so where should you enjoy all this goodness? You could relax in one of the 3 cozy lounge areas (inside the taproom), you could find a seat on one of the 3 patios or find a high top and socialize.
