Thirsty Thursday – January 2018

    Is anyone out there trying to thaw out as much as we are today? With the recent Carolina Snow Days, we are taking a mental vacay & dreaming tropical. We are thrilled to have our guest host, Laura Walsh, of On A Clear Day Studio, here at the Charlotte’s Finest office. She is mixing up a deliciously caffeinated, gulf coast specialty, the Bushwacker.  This legendary coffee milkshake-like concoction is also known as “the winter pina colada”. So make a blender full of your very own and come indulge with us!

    Charlotte Fav Cocktails

    Bushwackers | Ingredients

    Ice
    1 ounce dark rum
    1 ounce Kahlua
    1 ounce light Creme de Cacao
    1 ounce dark Creme de Cacao
    ½ cup milk
    ½ cup Coco Lopez (About ¼ can – you’ll need to heat it and stir it well to loosen the coconut)

    1) Fill the blender with ice about half way or so
    2) Add the rum
    3) Pour in Kahlua
    4. Then add the light and dark Creme de Cocoa
    5) Pour in milk and then Coco Lopez
    6) Blend it up till you get a milkshake like consistency
    7) top with a cherry and a paper umbrella (or 3)
